Case Study: Helping Beer Piper understand emissions and save energy
- Posted By The Growth Company
Beer Piper specialises in beer line cleaning solutions which use automatic equipment designed and built in house to optimise efficiency. The business which operates from Trafford Park in Greater Manchester, is committed to sustainability, to reduce emissions whilst creating a competitive edge in their field.
Beer Piper approached the Bee Net Zero partnership for support in understanding their carbon footprint and identifying energy-saving solutions to speed up their transition to net zero. Jeff Singer, Commercial Director from Beer Piper began working with Piyush Singh, Net Zero and Sustainability Consultant at Green Economy, one of the Bee Net Zero partners, who came onsite to conduct an environmental audit which identified opportunities to save 9.6tC02e carbon tonnes, which would bring annual cost savings of £9,762.
Green Economy is helping the business to establish a carbon emissions baseline. They are prioritising becoming net zero in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, by implementing low and no cost energy saving solutions within the business to bring down energy bills, investing in solar PV, and developing real-time carbon data to enable visitors to view the carbon saved and generated from operations on their company website.
Jeff Singer, Commercial Director from Beer Piper said:
“We’ve been really impressed with the support we’ve received to help us drive forward our sustainability journey. The Bee Net Zero Trafford Park campaign meant that we had a single route in to speak to a sustainability expert who could signpost all the local funding and support that we could access to progress action.”
