Tourism and Hospitality

Greater Manchester is known for its brilliant venues, attractions, restaurants and hotels.
Now we want to be known as one of the greenest visitor destinations in the world.
Our ambition is to be the most sustainable destination in England and to reach the top 40 globally on the GDS Index. Sustainability sits at the heart of our new Visitor Economy Strategy, and we need the support of businesses like yours to make this a reality.

The Green Hospitality Network

The Green Hospitality Network has been created by Marketing Manchester and Bee Net Zero to help Greater Manchester’s restaurants, bars, cafés, attractions, venues and hotels take practical steps to become greener and benefit from doing so.

The Network keeps things simple, offering clear guidance, removing barriers and providing actions you can take straight away to save money, reduce waste, cut running costs and attract environmentally-minded visitors.
By joining the Network, you will be part of a community of likeminded businesses sharing ideas and helping Greater Manchester reach its 2038 net zero carbon target.
We will host events, share resources and connect your team with free expert support and training opportunities, all designed to help you make confident progress on your sustainability journey.

What's in it for you?

  • Savings on energy bills and operating costs
  • Increased customer satisfaction
  • Improved working conditions and staff retention
  • Reduce food waste
  • Build connections and share ideas with likeminded businesses
  • Access free, expert support from across Greater Manchester
