The organisation has a desire to build a more resilient and future-proof visitor economy that protects the region’s natural environment and maximises the benefits for local communities and residents, which has led to the implementation of The Green Hospitality Network, Manchester’s entry in the GDS rankings and signing the Glasgow Declaration for Climate Action in Tourism.

As a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration for Climate Action in Tourism, Marketing Manchester has committed to reducing the impact of tourism on the climate, and measuring and reporting on carbon emissions produced by the visitor economy.
